QSFP CWDM4
Our 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 optical transceiver (Part Number: MCQ-4NSCCC-2K) is a high-performance, fiber-efficient solution designed for cost-effective 100 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in data center interconnects (DCI) and enterprise networks. It supports a reliable transmission distance of up to 2 kilometers over a single pair of standard LC duplex single-mode fibers (SMF), making it an ideal choice for building scalable network spines and cross-building links.
The QSFP CWDM4 transceiver employs advanced Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology. It multiplexes four independent 25.78 Gbps NRZ electrical lanes onto four optical lanes operating at 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, and 1331nm wavelengths respectively, utilizing high-quality DFB lasers and PIN receivers. This architecture allows the full 100G capacity to be transported over just two fibers, dramatically optimizing fiber infrastructure utilization. With a low power consumption of only 3.5W and a 3.3V power supply, it offers an excellent balance of performance and energy efficiency.
Engineered for robust operation, this transceiver is fully compliant with the CWDM4 MSA, QSFP28 MSA, and SFF-8636 management specifications. It operates seamlessly within the standard commercial temperature range of 0℃ to 70℃. By delivering a proven, standards-based, and low-power solution, the 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 provides network architects with a dependable and future-ready component for efficient 100G network upgrades.
Q1: My link distance is only 500 meters. Is this QSFP CWDM4 transceiver overkill? Can I still use it?
A1: It's perfectly fine and common practice. Using a module with a longer rated distance for a shorter link provides a healthy "link budget" margin. This extra margin can compensate for losses from connectors or less-than-perfect fiber, making your link more stable and robust. The key rule is to never exceed the maximum 2km distance.
Q2: How does its power consumption compare to other 100G options for a similar reach?
A2: This is one of its advantages. The CWDM4 design, with a typical consumption of around 3.5W, is known for being more power-efficient than many alternative 100G 2km solutions. This lower power draw translates to reduced operating costs and less heat in your equipment chassis, which is crucial for high-density deployments.
Q3: Is the CWDM4 technology a stable, industry-accepted standard for the long term?
A3: Yes, absolutely. CWDM4 is an established and widely adopted Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) standard. It is supported by all major network equipment and optics vendors, ensuring strong interoperability, a competitive supply chain, and long-term technical support. It's a safe and future-proofed choice for 100G infrastructure.
Q4: What is your quality assurance policy?
A4: We provide a standard warranty for all optical transceiver products. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, effective from the date of shipment. We offer professional technical support, including product application consultation and fault diagnosis.
